Joaquim joined BRAM in 2010, following 20 years in public economic policy roles having previously served as Secretary of Finance of the State of Rio de Janeiro, National Treasurer and various roles in the Federal Government, the IDB, IMF and ECB. Joaquim holds a PHD in Economics from University of Chicago.
