Dr Laura York, VP, Global Meningococcal Vaccines, Medical Development and Scientific/Clinical Affairs, Pfizer

Dr. Laura York is currently Vice President, Global Meningococcal Vaccines in the Vaccines Medical Development, Scientific & Clinical Affairs group at Pfizer (PA, USA), and is responsible for the development and execution of the medical strategy for the meningococcal vaccine franchise.  
 
Dr. York has a background in immunology and vaccinology.  She has worked in the vaccine field for over 20 years, gaining experience in all phases of vaccine development, and has contributed to the development of vaccines such as FluMist®, Prevenar 13® and most recently, Trumenba®.  Dr. York began her career in industry as a research scientist (at was to become Wyeth, then Pfizer), leading a group evaluating early vaccine candidates and novel adjuvants.  She then transitioned to a Scientific Affairs role to focus on research strategy and global vaccine policy.  Prior to joining Pfizer’s Medical Development group, Dr. York was the Regional Scientific Affairs Lead in Central and Eastern Europe, Pfizer (Paris, France).  Dr York did her post-graduate training in Canada, receiving her PhD (Microbiology) from the University of Saskatchewan after completing a MSc (Immunology) at Memorial University.
