The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) is a 75 year old premier organisation representing pharmaceutical professionals. It is registered as a Charitable Trust with an objective to promote the science and art of pharmacy in all aspects and impart suitable education and training to professionals working in all facets of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. IPA with a member base of over 12,000 spread across the length and breadth of the nation, operates through 19 State and more than 33 local branches. IPA has five major divisions representing Industrial Pharmacy, Regulatory affairs, Education, Community Pharmacy and Hospital
Pharmacy. The students forum of IPA is a part of IPA Education division.
IPA is affiliated to international pharmaceutical associations like FIP, FAPA, CPA, AAPS, AAiPS and IPSF and organizes in collaboration with them, seminars, symposia, training sessions and conferences. As a member of the Drug Technical Advisory Board (DTAB), IPA is actively involved in advising the Government of India on matters of Drug Regulation and Drug Industry. IPA is actively involved in public health activities in Central Government’s Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP). IPA is also engaged in healthcare activities in collaboration with international organizations like WHO, FIP and WHPA.
