Orest Hurko has had 15 years of biomarker and early development experience at SmithKline Beecham, GlaxoSmithKline, Wyeth, Pfizer, and at EMD Serono, after 19 years on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with a special interest in heritable disorders of the nervous system.  At Wyeth, he was founding Director of the Translational Medicine Research Collaboration with the Universities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee where he was named Honorary Professor.  He serves on the Data and Publication Committee of the Alzheimer Disease Neuroimaging Initiative and the part time faculty of the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development teaching Design and Execution of Clinical Trials.  In addition to Mendelian Inheritance in Man and the Johns Hopkins Guide to Neurologic and Psychiatric Disorders he has made over 200 contributions to the scientific and clinical literature.
