Amit Rastogi, MD,MHCM is Senior Vice President for Strategy, Growth and Innovation at Inova, Washington DC region’s leading healthcare system that serves more than 2 million people annually.
As part of Inova’s senior leadership team, Dr. Rastogi helps set strategic direction for the organization. He oversees strategy development for Inova’s hospitals, ambulatory care network, direct to consumer initiatives, population health, personalized health/precision medicine, medical education and research. Dr. Rastogi’s responsibilities also include system wide marketing, branding and communication. Additionally, he oversees Inova’s foundation, utilizing philanthropic efforts and donor outreach to help fulfill Inova’s mission of access to healthcare, medical education and research.
Dr. Rastogi serves as the principal medical innovation leader for the Inova Health System. As medicine transforms from a reactive to a predictive and consumer centric model, he works to integrate genomics and technology solutions into patient care.
Dr. Rastogi has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare executive roles and practice as a primary care physician. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer of Northeast Medical Group/Yale-New Haven Health System in Connecticut, where he instituted numerous safety and quality initiatives. Additionally, serving as the CEO of their Accountable Care Organization, he led the organization’s transition from volume-to value-based healthcare.
Dr. Rastogi earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He went on to pursue postgraduate work in anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School in Boston and internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center-Yale School of Medicine in Connecticut. Dr. Rastogi also holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management from Harvard University.
