Ashley Harvey, Airside Operations Control Lead and UAS Lead, Gatwick Airport

Ashley joined Gatwick in April 1997. He brings with him over 21 years of experience in  Security,  Airfield and Airport Operations. 
UAS Lead 2017 2018: Responsible for understanding the Risks and Opportunities of the rapidly evolving industry. Developing the UAS Drone Management Plan. Working closely with the Control authorities i.e. Police CAA DfT PNI AOA and other Airports sharing learnings and developing best practices. Working with Drone Detection Companies to understand possible solutions. 
As an experienced Airfield Duty Manager, Ashley's technical and leadership skills help him lead the Airfield Operations department to achieve its goals. His leadership style is one of involvement and honest feedback, to enable ongoing improvement, both for the business and on an individual basis.

Ashley reports to the Airside Operation Manager and is responsible for leading and managing the Airside Controllers and Support Team. Responsible for the Safety, Compliance and Performance of the Airfield. Accountable for the execution of the operational plan on shift and responsible for ensuring compliance with the Aerodrome Manual, CAP’s 168,642,683,772, Safety Management System and local bylaws.
