Jill Massey, PharmD, MBA is the Senior Vice President for Melinta Therapeutics, Inc with responsibility for the development and leadership of the Melinta Antimicrobial Resistance Program and all Medical Affairs initiatives. She is a senior Medical Affairs Executive with proven success in affecting patient outcomes as a health care provider and business leader through several multifunctional organizations. Her primary areas of expertise are in pharmacy, education, and antibiotic stewardship. She is an energetic leader recognized for expertise in strategic planning, leadership development, collaborative partnerships, effective business integrations and innovative solutions. She combines strong business and clinical experience with over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry following a career in academia and clinical practice. She is recognized for her excellence in providing effective, efficient, and informative customer-focused products and services through high-performing and diverse teams.
Dr. Massey started her pharmaceutical career with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company as a field-based Medical Science Manager supporting the cardiovascular, metabolic, infectious diseases, and neurosciences franchises. She went on to lead the Neuroscience and Infectious Diseases Medical teams at BMS and subsequently joined the newly formed Janssen Scientific Affairs LLC where she was responsible for budget and resource allocation, policy, information systems, professional development, contract management, quality and compliance, and safety. Jil went on to lead the US field based medical teams, medical information, independent medical education, promotional review, scientific content strategy and digital medical engagement (JanssenMD), US call center, and scientific business merger and acquisitions for Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. Most recently, Jill was the Senior Vice President of Global Health Science for The Medicines Company where she lead the company’s medical initiatives supporting Infectious Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases and Surgery and Perioperative Care.
Jill earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and her MBA from Drexel University LeBow College of Business. She completed a geriatric psychiatric residency at Mercer University School of Pharmacy and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the faculty of the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy and served as the Director of Geriatric Pharmacy Practice at the Program on Aging at Washington University School of Medicine while maintaining a clinical practice at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis until she started her pharmaceutical industry career.
