Carlos Esquíroz is Director of Engineering and Maintenance of Metro de Madrid. He’s in charge of the maintenance, upgrades and new developments of the Rolling stock fleet (2.430 coaches); of more than 110.000 equipment including escalators, ticketing machines, public public-address system, access, lifts, automatic doors, control & signaling systems and radio; and of the IT systems. He’s responsible for ensuring the whole functionality of nearly 4 billion € railways assets and for driving a business reengineering process focused on increasing the value and level of the maintenance and technical services provided to the Metro de Madrid network.
He joined Metro de Madrid in 1995 and he was Head of the International Business Development Department for 5 years.
