Phillip trained as a computer expert with Honeywell before moving on to program financial and engineering systems for Memorex. In 1987 Phillip joined the city (in time for the crash!) and was a member of the original team that set up the first UK retail share shop for Debenhams Investment Services. He has held a number of senior positions covering operations, technology and change for Barclays Stockbrokers, UBS and Lloyd’s of London.
Phillip has been involved in many start up and innovative propositional and technical developments including the first ever ‘real time’ online share trade in the UK during his tenure at Barclays Stockbrokers. More recently Phillip founded Winterflood Business Services before joining Nutmeg as COO where he created the first paperless online pension as well as completely revamping the Nutmeg Operating Model bringing all operations in-house and enabling the development of equity fractional share dealing.
At 7IM, Phillip is responsible for Operations, Technology, IT Development, Business Architecture and Change.
