Mr. Choi has over 25 years of real estate development experience and has worked in North America, Asia, and China on a variety of development types including residential, office, shopping mall, hotel, resort, convention centre, urban renewal and whole community development. Clients have included Public Works Canada, British Columbia Building Corporation, HK Government, Urban Renewal Authority, HK Airport Authority, Mass Transit Rail Corporation, Kowloon Canton Rail Corporation and the private sector. Mr. Choi has extensive experience in real estate venture formation and team management, planning and development feasibility study, architectural and urban design, project finance and property investment strategy. Mr. Choi is currently the Managing Director of Nan Fung Development with projects in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Vietnam, etc., and property funds in China. Recent award winning developments include TKO Plaza, a development with 2,880 residential flats and a 30,000sm retail podium, that won the Ten Best Layout Awards given by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in 2004, The Grandville, winner of the Quality Building Award 2008 Certificate of Merit (Residential Category), and Florient Rise -Show Flats and Sale Office, winner of the 2008 HK Art and Design Festival Outstanding Greater China Designs Awards. Mr. Choi has extensive experience in large scale development and infrastructure projects. As a former Director at Foster and Partners, he was the Authorised Person – Architect for Hong Kong International Airport Passenger Terminal Building (HKIA Silver Medal) and KCRC Hung Hum Rail Terminus Extension (HKIA Certificate of Merit). The Hong Kong Airport Authority had also appointed Mr. Choi as the Authorised Person –Architect to co-ordinate the majority of infrastructure projects at the New Hong Kong International Airport involving complex planning and liaison with numerous government departments and various end users. Airport infrastructure projects under his responsibility included over 70 permanent utilities buildings, bridges, landside and airside roads, storm water and drainage system for the entire Chek Lap Kok Island. The airport was awarded the Top Ten Construction Projects in the World and has won numerous awards including the Best Airport in the World since opening in 1998. Mr. Choi is active in community services. He is appointed by the HKSAR Government as the Chairman of the Architects Registration Board, Board Member of the Board of Review (Inland Revenue Ordinance), The Construction Industrial Training Board, and the Pneumoconiosis Compensation Fund Board. He is also a Director of German Swiss International School Foundation. He had taught in the University of Hong Kong and his article, 'Control of Variations and Instructions (CVO: A Web-based Cost Control Innovation' coauthored with Dr. S. 0. Cheng and K. Ng, won the Faculty of Architecture and Surveying Innovation Award given under CIOB 2005/2006 International Innovation and Research Awards. His paper "The need of a paradigm shift in Hong Kong built heritage conservation" was awarded the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Journal Best Paper Award 2006 under the Design Paper Category.
