Gillian Chee, Fund Manager, SC Capital Partners Group

Ms. Chee joined the firm in July 2014 with over 24 years of experience in real estate. She was instrumental in the launch of the firm’s inaugural core/core plus open ended fund which targets stabilized and accretive assets across Asia Pacific. Apart from the initial set up and fund raising activities, Ms. Chee is also responsible for the acquisition, asset management and the day to day operations of the Fund.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chee was Senior Vice President of Fund Management at Aviva Investors where she was a pioneering member in the formation of the group’s Asia Pacific real estate business. Ms. Chee was most recently responsible for overseeing the investment sourcing and execution of real estate transactions across the Asia Pacific region for both internal and external clients. During Ms. Chee’s seven-year tenure at Aviva, the Asia business grew from a startup to a manager of $2.2 billion of assets, with five direct property funds invested in 21 direct real estate assets across seven cities. Ms. Chee served as the first fund manager of Aviva’s Asia Pacific Property Fund, a UK-domiciled core fund launched in 2008 investing in Pan Asian commercial properties on behalf of retail and institutional investors. She was also involved in managing a series of core and value add funds investing in Australian logistics and Tokyo offices.

Ms. Chee was a founding member of ARA Ltd from 2002 to 2004 and a key executive in the launch of Fortune REIT in 2003, the first cross border REIT in Singapore. She served as the Investment and Asset Manager of Fortune REIT as well as the office manager based in Hong Kong. Ms. Chee was the Head of Investment Consultancy in Chesterton Petty Hong Kong Ltd from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, she was an Associate Director of Valuations in Vigers Hong Kong Ltd. Ms. Chee started her career as an Analyst in Scotts Holdings Limited (now known as The Ascott Ltd) and in the latter years she was a manager of the business development unit. Ms. Chee received an Honors Degree in a Bachelor of Science (Estate Management) from the University of Singapore in 1992. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and speaks conversational Hainanese, Cantonese, and Thai.
