The ancient yet timeless, tried and true Buddhist concept of mindfulness and moment-to-moment “nowness-awareness” can help us to see the wholeness and beauty of our children (and ourSelves) in each moment. In the relentless modern day rush of too-much-to-do-and-no-time-to-do-it, the all-important, nurturing aspects of parenthood and the joyful playtime and rapturous imagination space of childhood - and even the teen years - can easily disappear.
In this workshop explore how we can teach young people to discover wisdom, love and serenity within themselves. Integrating non-judgmental moment-to-moment awareness - mindfulness - and the practices of “Presencing” can help us slow down and feel calmer, clear and centred, enriching our lives as parents, guardians, teachers, mentors, coaches, counsellors, and role models. By nourishing the internal life of a child, we foster wisdom and understanding, patience, and mutual respect, as well as a greater sense of meaning and purpose in our daily living.
