Ajay Paliwal is a Director of Jiva Capital, a firm that invests and consults in the mining, metals and power sectors. The investment focus is on situations in which Jiva can play a role in the development of resources. In the consulting business, Jiva currently provides in-depth strategic support, transaction support and financial management services to select few fast growth businesses. Key relationships include mid-cap and multinational companies, some being India-centric, that are respected and looking for sustainably fast growth. Current investment and consulting engagements are in iron ore, copper, coal and power. With over 17 years in the sector, Ajay has worked with most leading and fast growth natural resources companies, banks and advisers. Ajay was previously Deputy CFO of Vedanta Resources plc. Prior to Vedanta he was UK Mining Transactions leader at Ernst & Young, UK following on from 11 years at PwC in London and Middle East. He has served as a Director of Stillwater Mining Company. During his advisory career has led projects for Xstrata, Kazakhmys, BHP, Anglo American, Mittal Steel, ENRC, Industries Qatar, Petroleum Development Oman, Rothschild Investment Trust amongst others. Ajay graduated as a Chemical engineer from University College London and is a Chartered Accountant.
