Mr Mark de Laeter | General Manager Networks Western Power
Mark is the General Manager, Networks at Western Power, Western Australia’s largest transmission and distribution network services provider. He is responsible for three core areas of the business: asset management, major customer services and smart network development and deployment.
The asset management accountabilities include network augmentation planning and development, performance of the existing network, environment strategy and management, land access, technical standards and policies, asset data management and network investment strategy submissions.
Services to major customers encompass meeting all the connection and ongoing supply requirements of major customers (generators and large loads).
The smart network program encompasses smart network architecture, development of non-traditional energy solutions, and the development of advanced metering infrastructure.
Mark has over 25 years experience in the electricity industry in a broad range of technical, commercial and operational roles. He has a Master of Engineering Science degree, a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration degree.
In July 2011, Mark attended the INSEAD campus in Fontainbleau, France to participate in the Asset Management Program. This is a high level intense career transition program designed to equip attendees with the skills, knowledge and ability to adapt their thinking and perspective at each phase of their career, helping them to become an effective and successful leader.
