Ms Susan Middleditch, Group Executive ICT & CFO, Queensland Government Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation

Susan is the Group Executive and Chief Finance Officer of Business Operations, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI). Susan is responsible for the delivery of Finance and ICT services as well as Business services to an organisation with 5,500 staff located across the State of Queensland, which has recently been created from nine different government agencies. This has delivered key challenges to her ICT team to developing a 1DEEDI network which enables effective and consistent organisational services, both internally and to our customers. Susan has a background in both government and private sector finance. She has been responsible for the delivery of corporate services in commercial government agencies. Susan has a raft of previous experience in government agencies both throughout Australia and New Zealand. She has particular expertise in establishing new government organisations and in developing the corporate services to support these organisations. She also has experience in major change initiatives in government organisations, particularly in implementing new processes and systems that underpin business activities. Prior to DEEDI, Susan's recent role was to set up the SEQ Water Grid Manager which manages major contracts for the provision of water services and sells water to regional councils, power stations and industrial and rural customers in South East Queensland. Susan is an accountancy graduate and Fellow Certified Practising Accountant. She is a graduate of the Mt Eliza Business School and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
