	Zahid qualified as a pharmacist and after a stint in hospital pharmacy, went on to complete a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry. He then spent 11 years in R&D working with SME's such as MNL & Integrin and multinationals such as Wyeth. He joined the Technology Strategy Board in Oct 2007 where he is now Head of Healthcare.
