Felipe is CEO of Corporación Mexicana de Inversiones de Capital, S. A. de C. V. (Fund of Funds) since January 2009. a corporation established by NAFIN, BANOBRAS, BANCOMEXT and FOCIR, four development banks in Mexico. The Corporation has invested in 38 Private Equity / Venture Capital Funds that have promoted more than 160 SMEs and SPVs in Latin America with special focus in México. He has more than 18 years of experience in the Investment Banking Market in Mexico. Previously to this position, he was head of Investment Banking Advisory Mexico in HSBC Bank, and CEO of HSBC Casa de Bolsa (a securities firm). He has worked in several positions at HSBC since 1993. In such positions he executed more than 20 M&A transactions (some of them cross border M&A´s) and more than 26 privatization processes. Previously, he served as Director of Project Finance in Fonlyser, Banca Serfin (today Santander Bank) where he participated in structuring several Projects for the infrastructure sector. At this bank he also served as Executive Director for Public Sector Banking. He also served as Senior Executive Vice President and Board of Directors member at the Mexican Investment Board, a cuasi-governmental entity devoted to the promotion of foreign investment into Mexico. Previously he worked in the government sector, as General Director of Economic Analysis at the Presidencia de la República (the office of the President). Before, he was CEO of CESTUR, a think tank entity for the Ministry of Tourism. He also was Deputy Director at the National Institute of Statistics (INEGI), an entity of the Ministry of Budget and Planning, where he developed the methodology to measure GDP on quarterly basis. He holds a Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, a MBA and a B. S. (graduated with honors) in Economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara.
