Mr Robert Farrow | Corporate Treasurer Al Ghanim Industries | Kuwait
Rob Farrow currently serves as Corporate Treasurer for Alghanim Industries. Based in Kuwait, he is responsible for Alghanim’s global Treasury activities.
Rob is a full member of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers, having started his Treasury career in 1985 with Ford Credit. After a spell as Treasurer of Ford Credit plc he became the FX Manager of Ford of Europe in 1992 before moving to GE in 1994. A very challenging and rewarding five years were spent in Singapore as GE’s Assistant Treasurer – Asia and then Risk Manager during the “Asia crisis” from 1996 to 2001. In 2001, Rob moved to Norway as GE Hydro’s CFO, and his GE experience culminated with 5 years as Group Treasurer of GE Energy in Atlanta from 2004-09. He assumed his current role with Alghanim in mid 2009.
During his career Rob has been active in all key Treasury areas, including major FX exposure management operations, Eurosterling bond issuance and asset securitization, international trade and risk management, and cash pool structuring. In 1995/96 Rob was the leader of GE’s working group to prepare for EMU and introduction of the Euro, and from 1998-2000 he served on the executive committee of the Singapore ACT.
