Mr. Andrew McIver | Group Chief Executive Sportingbet Plc
Andrew McIver, aged 48, formerly Group Finance Director, took over as Group Chief Executive in October 2006. Following Sportingbet’s withdrawal from the US in the same month, he has concentrated on creating a geographically diverse industry leading on line sportsbook, with the focus being on regulated jurisdictions. Currently 40 per cent of the business is derived from Australia, 15 per cent from each of Spain and Greece and 5 per cent each from the UK and Denmark.
Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen. Following two years in the Corporate Finance department at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, he held senior finance positions at Signet Group Plc, Ladbrokes Group Plc and British Telecom’s Internet division. He was Director of Finance with House of Fraser Plc for four years before joining Sportingbet in December 2001.
