Petr Koblic, CEO, Prague Stock Exchange

Petr Koblic, a graduate of the University of Economics Prague, began his career in Živnostenská banka in 1993 as a financial market dealer. In 1997, he was promoted to the position of deputy director of the Treasury Department. During 1997–1998, he worked at Patria Finance, where he was responsible for institutional client sales. In June 1998, he moved to CA IB Securities’ where he headed trading activities, and in 2000 he was appointed to the Board of Directors, of which he was Chairman from January 2002. After the transfer of CA IB’s activities into HVB in 2003, he worked as a Director of the Private Banking and Asset Management Division in HVB Bank Czech Republic. Mr. Koblic holds a local broker’s license and has received a Series 7 brokerage license in the United States. Until 2004 he was a member of the Board of the Association for the capital market (AKAT). In 2001, the Association for capital market proposed Mr Koblic as a representative of its members in the Board of Directors of Investor Compensation Fund. From spring 2001 to November 2007 he was a Chairman of the Board of the Fund. From 2006 to 2009 Mr. Koblic was a member of the Board of CMC, the Graduate School of Business and from November 2007 till now a member of the Board of Unicorn College s.r.o. Mr. Koblic was elected as a Chairman and CEO of Prague Stock Exchange in September 2004. He is also Chairman of the Board of Central Depository (Univyc), the Exchange’s settlement and clearinghouse subsidiary and Chairman of the Exchange’s Listing Committee. In February 2007, he was named as a Chairman of the Exchange Chamber of the Power Exchange Central Europe (Prague Energy Exchange).
