MillenniumIT was founded in 1996, with corporate HQ and software development located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It employs 500+ people in two divisions - Proprietary Software Products and ESP- the Enterprise and Service Provider business of MillenniumIT.

MillenniumIT systems are used by ICAP, the London Metal Exchange and a series of emerging market exchanges as well as depositories, brokerages and regulatory bodies in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.

MillenniumIT's suite of capital market products include Millennium Exchange (trading platform), Millennium SOR (smart order router), Millennium Surveillance (market surveillance and regulatory compliance), Millennium CSD (central securities depository) and Millennium Clearing (clearing and settlement). These products cater to trading multiple asset classes including equities, derivatives, debt, commodities, forex, structured products and exchange-traded funds.

Functioning as an independent division, MillenniumESP is an industry-leading enterprise and telecom solutions provider. In Sri Lanka, it is firmly positioned as the market leader in the service provider business segment, especially in telecommunication and enterprise solutions. The division architects, builds and maintains carrier-class IP based next generation networks (NGN) for service providers, integrating complimentary revenue generating solutions around these NGNs.
