Dr Marcel Jeucken | Managing Director Responsible Investment PGGM | The Netherlands
Dr. Marcel Jeucken is Managing Director Responsible Investment and member of the Management Team of the portfolio managers unit at PGGM Investments. PGGM Investments is the fiduciary manager for amongst others Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn, the second largest pension fund in The Netherlands and Europe, and has approximately 108 billion euro under management. The 11 persons-strong Responsible Investment team has a central role in the implementation of PGGM’s responsible investment policy along all asset classes. These activities include integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into internal and external mandates, focused ESG investments, voting, engagement, exclusions, and shareholder litigation.
Dr. Jeucken is amongst others a delegate of the PRI Board and member of the Steering Committee of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). In 2009, Dr. Jeucken was a member of the Corporate Governance Code Review Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) which published its revised corporate governance principles at the end of 2009. The ten years before joining PGGM, Dr. Jeucken was employed as Managing Director at Dutch Sustainability Research, Sales and Marketing Director at SiRi Company, and senior economist at Rabobank Group.
Dr. Jeucken holds a Ph.D. in economics on sustainability issues and the financial sector. He has written numerous papers and is author or editor of several books, including “Sustainable Finance and Banking” (2001) and “Sustainability in Finance” (2004).
