Susan Gosling, Head of Investments, MLC Investment Management

Susan Gosling has worked for Sydney based investment management firm, MLC for the past eight years. She is Head of Capital Markets Research, her responsibilities include strategic and active asset allocation; during calendar 2010 she was also MLC's acting Chief Investment Officer. She has a focus on the application of scenarios analysis to investment decision making (and has a paper in the Fall 2010 issue of the Journal of Portfolio Management on this topic); and has built and applied a number of extensive scenarios models for analysis and design of investment strategy. The blending of top down and bottom up considerations, and the merging of asset allocation and stock selection are also areas of particular interest. Susan holds PhD in economics from London University and commenced her career as an economist in London. She has held a number of senior positions in the public and private sectors as well as with both boutique and large funds management firms over the past 20 years.
