Kevin is an experienced and innovative telecoms professional, actively exploring new business opportunities resulting from cutting-edge technologies and evolving Virgin Media’s communication and entertainment portfolio. In his current role, Kevin is responsible for developing Virgin Media’s metro wireless proposition, with the goal of enabling truly high performance mobile broadband services. In his previous role, Kevin was responsible for Virgin Media’s technical strategy, guiding the company into leadership positions through the rollout of next generation broadband (DOCSIS 3.0) and TV (Tivo) platforms. Kevin sits on the Virgin Media Board Committee for Technology & Operations.

Steven Hartley is Practice Leader of Ovum’s Telco Strategy Practice. He leads a global team of analysts that provide strategic advice to the world’s leading operators and vendors. The team provides strategic analysis of mobile, fixed, and integrated telecoms industry trends; the opportunities and threats facing service providers; and evaluations of major player strategies. Steven has more than 15 years’ experience in fixed and wireless communication market analysis. His areas of focus include market forecasting, mobile broadband, next generation migration and service strategies, and femtocells. He has spoken at leading industry events including the Mobile World Congress and regularly appears in the media.

Ajay Joseph

As Chief Technology Officer, Ajay Joseph is responsible for the technical strategy, innovation, and engineering of the iBasis Internet Telephony infrastructure. Since 1999, Ajay has lead the network architecture, systems development and migration of the global iBasis network to an all IP, switch-less architecture with iBasis' proprietary Assured Quality Routing (AQR) and Path Engine routing systems enabling iBasis to become one of the largest voice carriers on the world. Prior to joining iBasis, Ajay was manager and architect of the IP Telecom division at GTE Internetworking responsible for new VoIP-based services. He also held senior level engineering and design positions at DeskNet Systems and NYNEX Science & Technology.

Francesco Liberatore

Francesco Liberatore has extensive experience advising clients on all aspects of the application of EU and U.K. antitrust/competition laws as they relate to the TMT (technology, media, and communications), energy, pharmaceutical, financial, and retail sectors, among others, as well as in handling EU and multijurisdiction merger filings. He also has particular experience in cartel risk management, compliance, and electronic communications regulations. Francesco has written articles on antitrust/competition law and regulatory issues, which have been published in English and Italian.

Philip has 25 years’ experience in the mobile industry where he has held a variety of senior strategic, operational and technology positions in O2, Orange, J-Phone, Japan; BT, Extreme Mobile and Spinvox. He joined UK Broadband as CTO to build an LTE network - the next stage in the mobile communications story. Philip has worked in both corporate and start-up organisations, drawing on his insight, expertise and most of all his enthusiasm for technology to achieve success in a variety of ventures. Philip is currently also a board member of Ofcom's spectrum advisory board.

Dan Warren

Dan Warren is senior director of technology at the GSMA and joined the organisation in 2007. He currently leads the GSMA’s Voice over LTE (VoLTE) initiative and is responsible for driving forward and promoting the global adoption of Mobile Broadband technologies such as High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and Long-Term Evolution (LTE). He also acts as a technology subject matter expert across all of the GSMA’s initiatives and working groups. Prior to joining the GSMA, Dan held senior technical positions at Vodafone and Nortel. Dan has a degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Applied Mathematics.
