David S. Kopp is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of New York Pacific Capital Ltd. (NYPC, 卡贝基金) a leading private equity firm based in Beijing and Suzhou, PRC. Since 2002, NYPC has partnered with various leading municipal governments and Mr. Kopp pioneered one of the first domestic RMB funds (with the Agricultural Bank of China). NYPC’s experienced team of investment and operating partners are dedicated to investing in and adding significant value to leading SMEs across China. NYPC creates true partnerships with its portfolio companies by providing a powerful combination of capital, management, technology, and global strategic relationships.

Prior to NYPC, from 1992 until 2002, Mr. Kopp was Head of Investment Banking in the Americas for Natixis, an international bank with over $1 trillion in assets. He was also President and Chief Investment Officer of Natixis Investment Corp. (NIC), the alternative investment division. NIC focused on LBOs, venture capital, mezzanine, special situations and structured equity and debt investments. He managed a $2 billion portfolio of alternative assets and achieved a 10-year track record which significantly exceeded indices by over 500 bps. In addition, he was Co-founder and MD of Natixis Securities, Inc. (Natixis Bleichroeder, Inc.) an institutional broker/dealer focused on the global capital markets.

Mr. Kopp has served on the advisory boards of various private equity funds including those affiliated with Brown Brothers Harriman, Carlyle, Citigroup Venture Capital, CSFB, DLJ Merchant Banking, GSCP, Kleinwort Benson, TPG, and TWP.

Mr. Kopp previously worked in Corporate Finance as Vice President and Group Manager at Swiss Bank (UBS), and at Merrill Lynch, Citicorp, and Security Pacific (Bank of America). He has held the following securities qualifications: #4, #7, #24, #27, #63, #65 and Registered Investment Advisor. Mr. Kopp is a guest lecturer at Peking University.
