Julie McStay is a partner in the integrated communities team. Julie is acknowledged as a leading provider of legal services to the retirement living and aged care industries.
Julie acts for a wide range of retirement village operators and aged care providers. She also acts for Aged Care Association Australia (ACAA) and Aged Care Queensland. She is a member of the Queensland Law Society Elder Law Committee.

Julie is at the forefront of legislative developments in both the retirement village industry and the aged care industry.
In 2010, Julie was engaged by ACAA to undertake a major review of the Aged Care Act 1997 (Cth) and to prepare a report of proposed reforms to the Act. That report formed a significant component of ACAA’s submission to the Productivity Commission in their inquiry ‘Caring for Older Australians’.
In 2010 Julie was a member of the working party which drafted the submission for the Queensland Law Society on proposed amendments to the Retirement Villages Act 1999 (Qld).
