Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs was created in January 2009 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to formulate and execute plans, programmes and other initiatives as well as coordinate the activities of Agencies, Communities, Donors and other Stakeholders to fast track the development of the Niger Delta Region. The Region (comprising 9 0f the 36 states of Nigeria) has a huge Gas and Crude Oil reserves, solid mineral deposits in commercial quantity and potentials for deep sea port development, jetties, canals, commercial fishing and aquaculture. The Ministry of Niger Delta therefore welcomes the participation of local and foreign private sector entrepreneurs in the exploration and profitable exploitation of the abundant economic resources prevalent in the Region.
