Demósthenes Marques, Born in Passo Fundo - Brazil, has a degree in civil engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria – Brazil. He also holds a master’s degree in Business Management from the Universidade de Brasília, Brazil, and a diploma in Urban Development from Faculdades Integradas Cândido Mendes, Brazil. He has certificate in Public Works Audit from Universidade de Brasília – Brazil, and in Geographic Information Systems from Universidade Federal de São Carlos – Brazil. Demósthenes has been the Chief Investment Officer of FUNCEF since 2004, and a Caixa Econômica Federal employee since 1989, holding executive positions in the Urban Development and Economic and Social Development areas. He has acted as a member of the board of administration of companies such as Litel S.A. (a company from VALE’s holding structure), Brasil Ferrovias (a company from ALL Ferrovias – América Latina Logística, logistics) and JBS S.A.; being nowadays a member of the board of administration of the Norte Energia S.A. (energy industry, Belo Monte Hydroelectric plant owner) and Telemar.
