Thomas J Monahan is the Executive Vice President of International Development for Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company franchisor as measured by the number of hotels. Wyndham has over 7,200 hotels worldwide in nearly 70 countries under its family of brands covering the upper-upscale to economy sectors. The brands include Wyndham, Planet Hollywood, TRYP Wyndham, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Super 8 and Microtel. Wyndham Hotel Group is part of Wyndham Worldwide, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, comprising the Hotel Group, Wyndham Vacation Ownership and Group RCI.

Tom joined Wyndham in May 2008. His major responsibilities include overseeing all development activities in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Wyndham, Tom headed the acquisitions & development team for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Asia Pacific, where he also had earlier financial roles. Prior to Starwood, Tom held various financial leadership positions with Forte/Granada plc and Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts.

Tom holds a MBA in Financial Management from Pace University in New York, USA and he has lived and worked in Asia for over 20 years.
