James Sun is the CEO of Pirq where he sets and leads the overall business strategy, communication, and execution. Previous to Pirq, he was the Founder and CEO of GeoPage.com where he led the company in building a scalable location-based platform for industry specific commercial and retail applications. James also has Fortune 500 experience where he served as a database programmer at Intel and management consultant at Deloitte Consulting. As an active angel investor and strategic advisor, he’s helped several startups with strategic business planning, capital investment, international partnerships, and acquisitions.
On his spare time, James is known as a public speaker and television personality. James is often invited to speak on topics ranging from entrepreneurship, social media, mobile convergence, and international business. James was the first Seattle native to become a finalist on Donald Trump's hit reality show "The Apprentice." James then became the host of a television show called "War on Business" where he got to play the role of a business guru who travels around the world, meeting ambitious entrepreneurs and seeking to give them lessons on how to grow their businesses using principles from “Sun Tzu’s Art of War”.
James graduated from the University of Washington with a Business and Computer Information Systems degree. James was recently selected as a top 100 alumni from the University of Washington in the "Wonderous 100 Alumni Award" which included prominent individuals like Bill Gates Sr., Governor Christine Gregoire, and musician Kenny G.
