Derek Sulger is a Founding Partner of Lunar Capital Management, a China-focused private equity fund providing growth capital to Chinese companies positioned for inward and inland development. At Lunar Capital, Derek has guided the growth of the firm to 24 professionals in Shanghai, Chengdu and Hong Kong and leveraged his operational and entrepreneurial experience in China to realize substantial value for investors. In addition to overseeing investments made by Lunar Capital’s private equity funds, Derek co-founded Linktone, one of China’s earliest Nasdaq-listed companies, Intrinsic Technology Ltd., which was sold in 2005, and SmartPay Jieyin Ltd. which remains privately held. He served in a number of operational management and strategic capacities while driving the growth of these businesses from inception. Previously, Derek worked at Goldman Sachs for 7 years after attending Harvard University.
