Mr. Frederick Metz Shepperd is the Managing Director of Shepperd Investors AG with offices in Zurich, Switzerland. It is the successor to his family’s real estate investment business established in 1918. He co-founded the Quadral Group in 1984, where he successfully developed an industrial park focused on European and international companies. Quadral has since developed into a leading consulting firm in the development and implementation of global strategy. CEO’s and senior management from 20 of the Business Week “Top 100 Global Companies” use his strategies and have attended his seminars. He has helped over 50 European and Asian Companies establish markets and facilities in North America and almost the same number of North American companies in Europe.

He currently takes the lead in working with financial markets around the world to recognize opportunities in real estate, business and technology resulting from the new global capital flow. Through Quadral, the consulting arm, and Shepperd Investors AG, the capital arm, he develops funds directly, consults third party funds, private equity companies, banks and other financial institutions. He combines the global strategy with a practical understanding of local markets and industry trends. Prior to his employment as Managing Partner of Quadral in 1984, Mr. Shepperd served for five years as VP of Finance for Becker Pumps, Corp. a U.S. subsidiary of a German company, where he was responsible for the financial, legal, real estate and administrative areas of the company, development of sales subsidiaries, logistics, establishment of production in the U.S. and for operation of Aerzen USA Corp. a US joint venture between Becker and another German company. The venture was labeled a “model” for German companies in the US by the “Frankfurter Allgemeine.” Mr. Shepperd was employed by Touche Ross & Co. (Deloitte Touche) in their tax department upon graduation from law school. At Touche, Mr. Shepperd focused on international tax and business planning issues for foreign and domestically-owned clients. Mr. Shepperd is a noted writer in Europe and North America. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of BUSINESS FACILITIES MAGAZINE, where he contributes articles to their global real estate section. In Europe he has written the lead article for the annual “Investment USA” feature section for HANDELSBLATT, the same for WIRTSCHAFTS WOCHE, He has also written for other publications, including ABSATZWIRTSCHAFT, AREA DEVELOPMENT, PLASTICS NEWS, TIRE BUSINESS, FAMILIES IN BUSINESS and was a columnist for 10 years on tax, business and international issues with CRAIN’S CLEVELAND BUSINESS and the CRAIN’S NEWS SYNDICATE. He is quoted in BUSINESS WEEK, NEW YORK TIMES, MANAGER MAGAZIN, HARVARD BUSINESS MANAGER and other publications.
