Judging the World Vendor Awards
The first ever World Vendor Awards will be judged by expert industry individuals giving a fair and impartial opinion to determine who the winners are. All categories will be awarded purely on the basis of the submission from the entrant or nominee.
The Technologist of the Year will be awarded to the company with the most votes via an online poll hosted by Total Telecom Online. The shortlist is determined by the judges and the editorial team at Total Telecom.
The judging process
Entry deadline is December 18th 2009.
All nominations for each of the 11 categories will be reviewed by the judging panel. The judges will select a shortlist for each category, all winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 5th May 2010 and presented with an award from The World Vendor Awards, produced by Total Telecom.

Xavier leads the Technology Industry group across Europe for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). With over 25 years experience in the business he has developed a wide range of expertise across these key industries advising on the auditing of dual listed companies (both French or foreign subsidiaries); dealing with the regulatory bodies both in the USA and in France; advising on IPOs; and on mergers and acquisitions and divestitures of company operations. Over the years he has worked with companies such as IBM, ST Microelectronics, Equant, Dassault Systèmes, Gemalto, Alcatel-Lucent. He graduated from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris and is an Expert-Comptable and Commissaire aux Comptes. Xavier is based in Paris.

Antonio Coronado is a Partner and Director of Telemark Services, a leading consultancy firm which specializes in the ICT market. He has worked with Telemark UK for over ten years focusing on setting up and managing customer and employee satisfaction analysis as well as providing strategic support for a range of multinational clients. Antonio has successfully developed the Telemark OCEAN reports which benchmarks CSAT for top ICT providers worldwide, and more recently PeerPreference.com, helping customers to find the best-fit international data network provider for their particular needs. He holds a Bachelor Engineering Degree in IT from Alicante University, as well as an MBA from Manchester Business School.

David Ellis

David is responsible for the Group Technology & Transformation Office for Telecom New Zealand; a portfolio combining technology strategy, enterprise architecture and platform lifecycle management with a business-centric role to lead and co-ordinate various business unit transformation activities. Before Telecom New Zealand, David was part of the turnaround team at C&W, where he held senior strategy and product management roles. Prior to that, he worked as a management consultant across Europe with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, co-founded a wireless start-up in Germany, and worked as a venture capitalist for Morgan Stanley in London. David holds MA, MEng degrees and a post-graduate diploma in Design, Manufacture & Management, all from Cambridge University.

Axel Haentjens

Axel’s mission is to provide strategic directions into a global marketing, brand and external communications program. His responsibility encompasses management of the marketing plan process and the brand, the delivery of products and solutions collaterals, press and corporate communications. His geographical scope includes the worldwide multinational market and the entire French B2B market (from multinational to SMEs). Prior to this position, Axel served as head of Marketing for Orange Business Services as well as head of Strategy and Business Development for Equant (now Orange Business Services). Before the merger between Equant and Global One, Axel Haentjens served as head of Marketing for Global One, a post he held from July 2000 until June 2001. Prior to that, Axel served as vice president of France Telecom Data Networks and Services, from February 1999 until July 2000. In 1996, he created the Strategy and Product Development departments within France Telecom Transpac. Axel joined France Telecom Transpac in 1995 as a country delegate in charge of supervision and control of European affiliates.

Matt Hatton

Matt manages research programmes covering the consumer telecoms market, including voice services, broadband, pay TV and content/applications. His focus is on the evolution of the mobile market, particularly the growth of mobile broadband. He has over 10 years experience at the cutting edge of telecoms strategy research and consulting. He joined Analysys Mason in July 2008 from Hutchison 3G UK. Prior to 3, Hatton spent five years as a Senior Analyst and Program Manager with Yankee Group and is a well-respected commentator on the mobile industry. He holds an MSc in Telecommunications from University College London.

Anne Morris

Anne Morris is editor of Total Telecom, the world’s only integrated print and online information service for the telecoms industry. She moved from the position of editor, online, to take over editorship of the magazine from David Molony in February this year. Total Telecom Magazine reports extensively on telecoms managed services for corporate users, especially broadband access and services, operator strategies, and the changing business relationships of network operators, systems integrators and equipment vendors, as they shift into service provision in the competitive marketplace. Anne previously worked as production editor on Total Telecom's predecessor CommunicationsWeek International, which she joined in 1996. Prior to joining CWI she worked as a business translator and editor at Reuters for seven years.

Viatel is a Pan European business offering IP based managed services, Ethernet, Bandwidth and Network Infrastructure to business customers in the region. Lucy has led the successful turnaround of Viatel over the past 7 years with the financial backing of Morgan Stanley. Before joining Viatel she was Chief Executive of WorldCom (EMEA), where she led a financial restructuring and was credited with creating the first multi-billion dollar cash positive ‘alternative network’ operator in Europe and for protecting the EMEA business during the bankruptcy of the US group. Prior to 1999 Lucy spent 18 years at BT Plc. She had a successful and varied career with BT, working in many functions, gaining experience in operations, network management, customer service, finance, corporate head office and marketing. Non executive work now includes Chair of The Institute of Telecoms Professionals and has included Member of the Patten Commission for Policing in Northern Ireland, Board of the Royal Mint, CBI London Council and Board Member of Industrial Development Board (NI). Lucy has an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London, is a Fellow of the Institute of Marketing and an Associate Member of the City and Guilds Institute..

Mary Lennighan

Mary manages Total Telecom's daily online news site. She joined the company in mid-2003 and has worked on both the online and print products, taking on the position of executive editor in 2007. Mary has 10 years' experience in the telecoms space, having previously worked for CIT Publications, a company that now forms part of Telegeography. She began her career at Reuters.

Camille Mendler is Vice President of Global Service Strategies at the Yankee Group, where she leads research and consulting projects examining ICT business models. Recent work includes an exposé of the contractual risks of cloud computing, an analysis of the structural transformation of telecom operators and the creation of an outcome-based decision matrix for ICT procurement.
