 Ms Rhonda James,
Transport Project Coordinator East Gippsland Shire Council Rhonda James works in local government with the East Gippsland Shire Council in rural remote Victoria.
In RhondaÕs current role as transport project coordinator she has researched, developed and facilitated state-wide flexible transport solutions for regional Victoria using a community capacity framework within an action research model.
Some of the projects that are currently being trialled to overcome regulatory barriers are access to school buses, health transport, combined freight and public transport, demand/responsive transport, volunteer transport and the regulatory barriers faced by the indigenous community locally and nationally.
Rhonda has over 20 years experience working in the public and private sectors in economic development, law, sports management, vocational training, research, radio and community development and holds degrees in law and social sciences.
Rhonda is passionate about social issues and policy change and is working collaboratively with the Victorian government, local governments, operators and non government agencies toward a model for a coordinated whole of government approach to transport delivery.Appearing: Day One - Tuesday 23 February 2010 3.55pm A whole of Government approach to transport delivery
