 Ms Heather Haselgrove,
Chief Executive Officer Metro Tasmania Heather Haselgrove became the Chief Executive, Metro Tasmania on 1 July 2009. Metro operates bus services in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie employing 455 staff and utilising 220 buses.
Prior to moving to Hobart, Heather was the Director, Customer Service with the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure in South Australia. She had responsibility for passenger transport service planning and policy, marketing, provision of customer information through a call centre and shop front, business development, monitoring bus, train and tram services, finance and concessions.
In 2005, Heather spent 15 months in New Zealand working for the Auckland Regional Transport Authority tendering, contract managing and marketing passenger transport services across Auckland.
Prior to this, Heather worked for 27 years in the South Australian public sector in the areas of health, education and public transport, with eleven years experience in procurement and contract management. She tendered the provision of bus services across metropolitan Adelaide in both 1999 and 2004. In health, Heather facilitated the involvement of the private sector in the delivery of health infrastructure and support services.
Heather holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of South Australia and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.Appearing: Day Two - Wednesday 24 February 2010 3.30pm State-owned operator’s perspective on service delivery
