 Mr Tom Wilson,
Acting Manager, Integrated Service Planning, Public Transport Division Department for Transport, Energy & Infrastructure SA Tom Wilson has worked in public transport planning in Adelaide since the early 1970s, originally with consultants PG Pak-Poy and Associates, then with Director-General Dr Derek Scrafton, followed by many years with the State Transport Authority, then the Passenger Transport Board, the Office of Public Transport and now the Public Transport Division of the Dept for Transport Energy and Infrastructure.
He has seen the full circle turn from private operation of many metropolitan bus services, through Government operation, then back to private operation.
As a youngster he travelled on trams in Adelaide, saw the demise of most of them, then campaigned within Government for many years to have them extended and upgraded, which is now happening. In the 1980s Tom was Operations Manager for the Project Team that designed Adelaide's famous O-Bahn.
