Les Wielinga is the Director General, Ministry of Transport. He is currently leading the implementation of the new NSW Department of Transport and Infrastructure.
He was the Chief Executive of the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority from 2006-2009 and the Chief Executive of the Sydney Metro in 2009.
Les has more than 30 years' experience in transport issues and management, strategic planning, infrastructure development, delivery of infrastructure, program and project management, as well as administration. He has significant experience in managing large teams across disciplines including legal, financial, economic and engineering.
