Leonid Konik was born in 1970 at St.-Petersburg, Russia. Graduated in 1995 from St.-Petersburg State Technical University with a Master of Science degree in computer science. Right from the day of graduation started to work for “Business Petersburg” newspaper, run by Bonnier Business Press of Sweden. Started as free-lance, 3 month later Leonid Konik became a staff author of “Business Petersburg”. From 1995 to 1998 he sequentially worked in that newspaper as reporter, observer, editor of “Telecom & IT” supplement, editor of “Companies and Markets” department and, finally, editor of a joint “News” department. In July 1998 Leonid Konik became one of three founders of publishing company ComNews, and from the first day until now working as Editor-in-Chief of ComNews Group. Nowadays ComNews is an independent group of companies with a history of leadership in the market of telecom business information in Russia and the CIS. Today the Group consists of five companies in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, rendering publishing, research, and consultancy services. ComNews audience mostly consists of top managers and entrepreneurs in diverse telecom businesses (Internet, TV, corporate networks, and multiple services). The key competence of ComNews is to produce and distribute original content with a guarantee of quality and efficient audience reach. ComNews Group has over 60 fulltime employees.
