Sibongile Shongwe, Senior Manager - Compliance and Governance in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Eskom, will be presenting at Power & Electricity World Africa on the 17th of March.

Mr. Anand Naidoo,
Head of Power and Energy
ABSA Capital

Anand Naidoo is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He has a BSc in Electrical Engineering (Cum Laude) and an MBA (with distinction). Anand started his career at Eskom's Matimba Power Station as a systems engineer. He was later seconded to Siemens AG in Germany to obtain specialised training in the planning of electricity supply systems. Anand rejoined Eskom, where he achieved the position of Chief Engineer in 2001, responsible for capital expansion projects. His involvement at Eskom included being the leader on various large projects exceeding billions of ZARs. During his tenor at Eskom, Anand obtained significant exposure to the distribution, transmission and generation and municipality businesses, electricity pricing and the restructuring of the electricity supply industry. Anand joined Absa Bank in 2004, to oversee Absa's penetration into the African power sector. In 2005, Anand was appointed Director responsible for Power & Energy at Absa Capital.
