Dr Jeremy Barton,
Vice President Oncology R&D
Biogen Idec

Jeremy Barton, M.D. has 18 years experience in all phases of oncology drug development and commercialization activities in the pharmaceutical industry and has worked in Switzerland, the UK and the United States. Prior to joining Biogen Idec in July 2006, he held senior clinical research roles at Millennium, Elan, Glaxo Wellcome and Seattle Genetics as well as having his own consulting company. He currently is the Chief Medical Officer – Oncology at the Biogen Idec San Diego campus. After obtaining a Masters Degree in Physiology at Oxford University and his M.D. degree at University College Hospital Medical School in London, he trained in Internal Medicine and Clinical Oncology in the United Kingdom and practiced for 11 years in the National Health Service. Jeremy is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Oncology, a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (Clinical Oncology) and a Member of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.
