Chief Consulting Engineer GE Energy T&D Automation Umesh K. Singh, Chief Consulting Engineer GE ENERGY T&D Automation, has 33 years of experience in automation technology, including 25 years in the electric utility industry. Singh has managed and worked on various SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS, AMR, GIS, enterprise integration, operations merger and consolidation projects in North America and Worldwide. He is currently involved in several SmartGrid initiatives with Electric Utilities in North America. He is a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), TC57, Working Group 14 (Standard IEC 61968), which is defining the international standards for system interfaces for distribution management systems for enterprise integration. He is also a member of CCAPI (Control Center Application Programming Interface) Working Group defining CIM (common information model) requirements. Singh has been an Advisory Committee Member for DistribuTECH International Conferences in the United States since 1998.
