All categories are awarded based on the decision of an independent panel of judges. They determine their decision purely on the basis of the submission from the entrant or nominee.

Our panel of judges represent the industries cream of the crop, picked for their knowledge of the sector, reputation, contribution to the region and of course objectivity and integrity. The judges are:

• Paul Edwards, Chairman, Stacomms Holdings
• David Hartshorn, Secretary General, Global VSAT Forum
• Richard Waghorn, Chief Technology Officer, SABC
• Robert Bell, Executive Director, of both the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) and World Teleport Association (WTA)
• Lyn Mansfield, Chairperson, Southern African Broadcasting Association (SADIBA)

Judging Process:

The judges will give each submission a score between 1 and 10 (10 being the highest). Each nomination will be judged according to the criteria specific the category they have entered. Based on information submitted to validate the nomination, the judges will rate each nominee.

The average score will be calculated giving a winner and finalists. There will be one winner and up to four finalists in each category.

In the event of a tie for first place, each company will be asked to submit a tie-breaker entry which will be assessed by the judges to identify the winner.
