Plamen Monovski is the Chief Invest¬ment Officer of Renaissance Asset Managers based in London. He joined RAM in February 2010. Prior to joining RAM, Plamen spent 13 years at BlackRock and its predecessor firm Mer¬rill Lynch Investment Manag¬ers, where he co-managed the BlackRock Global Funds — Emerging Europe Fund; this fund was widely acknowledged to be the market leading invest¬ment fund investing in Emerg¬ing Europe. At its peak the fund stood at over $9 billion in as¬sets under management and was AAA rated by Standard and Poor’s. The Fund was double the size of its closest competitor. Plamen was also responsible for BlackRock’s successful $2 billion Global Emerging Markets product; institutional and long-short funds. At BlackRock, Plamen was known to all of Emerging Eu¬rope’s largest companies.
