Rod joined Horizon Power as Managing Director at the end of January 2006. For the three years prior to this appointment Rod was the Chief Executive Officer of the Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) in central Queensland. GAWB is the bulk water provider servicing the rapidly growing needs of the highly industrialised Gladstone region. Between 1998 and 2003 Rod worked for Aurora Energy, Tasmania’s electricity distributor and retailer where he undertook a wide range of roles with Aurora including operational, risk management, strategic change and regulatory management roles. Rod’s early career was spent working for accounting and professional service firms with a primary focus on the development and implementation of risk management systems and process improvement.
