Chris Raine has headed Alstom’s operations in Australia and New Zealand as President and Managing Director since 2004.
Chris commenced his professional career in power plant projects with State owned utilities Pacific Power and subsequently Snowy Hydro. Following his time in the public utilities, he moved to the private sector, joining Transfield where he was responsible for senior business development and sales roles covering the South-East Asian and Australian markets. In the late 1990s Chris relocated to Malaysia as Managing Director of ABB Power Generation.
When Alstom acquired ABB’s power generation business in 2000, Chris became the Managing Director of the new company - Alstom Power Asia Pacific. At the same time he was appointed as President for Alstom in Malaysia.
In 2003, Chris returned to Sydney as the Managing Director of Alstom Limited, and shortly after Chris assumed the role of President for Alstom operations in Australia and New Zealand.
