Mr Ron Hutchings,
Acting Executive General Manager
ANSTO

Dr Ron Hutchings holds a BSc and PhD from the University Birmingham, England, in the field of metallurgy and material science. Before joining ANSTO in 1989, he undertook extensive research on structure-processing-properties-performance relationships in engineering materials at a number of universities and companies in Europe, USA and South Africa. Since joining ANSTO, Dr Hutchings has held a number of senior positions in the research, technology transfer and policy arenas. Dr Hutchings has recently returned to ANSTO after completing a 3-year posting as Nuclear Counsellor in the Australian Permanent Mission to the IAEA, in Vienna. Dr Hutchings also represents Australia on the Steering Committee of the Paris-based, OECD Nuclear Energy Agency
