 Dr Glen Platt,
Director, Intelligent Grid Programme CSIRO Glenn Platt leads a research group within CSIROs Division of Energy Technology investigating ways of improving world energy usage. Fundamentally, this group aims to apply the latest state of the art technologies - from disciplines such as computer science, electrical engineering and telecommunications - to improving the intelligence of our energy systems by introducing autonomous, adaptive technologies that can help us manage our energy consumption.
Glenn holds a PhD, and electrical engineering degree, both from Newcastle University Australia. Prior to CSIRO, Glenn worked in Denmark as a Research Engineer with Nokia Mobile Phones, working on the standardisation and application of cutting-edge mobile communications technology. Before his time in Denmark, Glenn was employed in a project engineering capacity for various Australian engineering consultancies, working on industrial automation and control projects.Appearing: Day One Tuesday 16 February 2010, SUPPLY ECONOMICS STREAM 1.20pm International case study presentation: Utilising distributed generation and its role in a low emissions landscape
