Mr Robin Blair,
Director of Planning
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Robin Blair serves as the Director of Planning for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) Central Los Angeles Area where he continues his extensive involvement in the development of the regional transportation system. He experience includes managing the public private partnership in the development of Union Station Gateway, the hub of the California high speed rail system. Previously he pioneered several public-private partnership mixed use projects in the City of Los Angeles totaling over 2,000 housing units. Long involved with the National Research Council’s Transportation Research Board (TRB), Mr. Blair has chronicled Los Angeles’ evolving regional rail network, in particular the improvement of the transit patron and pedestrian experience. He also worked extensively in Central America on behalf of non-profits and as a member of the TRB’s Committee on Transportation in Developing Counties. Prior to his work for Metro he served as an asset manager for a private real estate trust with a portfolio of over one billion dollars of multi-family and commercial real estate. He continues to lecture on and has written on how non-motorized transport policy influences urban form and economic development.
