Kent is the Head of our Americas Energy & Infrastructure practice at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, an international law firm with 2,500 lawyers worldwide and offices in 16 countries. He is recognized by Chambers and the Legal 500 as one of the World's leading practitioners in private infrastructure finance. He has been involved in developing the templates for concession-based infrastructure financings in the UK, the Middle East, throughout Asia and in North America, including first of their kind transactions such as the Cross Israel Highway, the Saline Water Conversion Corporation privatization in Saudi Arabia, PPPs for the London Underground and most of the high profile infrastructure financings in North America. Prior to moving to the Firm's New York office, Kent was based in its London office and was Global Head of the Firm's Energy & Infrastructure Group. Kent's global experience, especially in the North American and European markets, is unique among infrastructure lawyers. Kent has extensive experience representing public authorities, developers and other equity participants as well as lenders in connection with complex infrastructure P3 projects. His recent US rail experience includes advising Regional Transportation District of Colorado (RTD) in relation to establishing the first public-private partnership in the US under the FTA's Penta-P program for the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of one or more commuter rail corridors to be built under the $6 billion RTD FasTracks Plan. He is also advising Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in connection with the Tampa to Orlando high speed rail project. Kent was educated at UCLA and New York University Law School. He has been a partner at the firm since 1996.
