Dr. Ing. Ralf Effenberger,

Dr. Effenberger has studied electrical engineering and started his professional career as test engineer at the German Space Test Laboratory of IABG mbH. IABG is one of Europe's leading provider of engineering and full-scale testing services for space, aerospace and high speed transportation systems. From 2003 to 2007 he was Managing Director of ETS. B.V., a company based in the Netherlands managing the operations of the Space Test Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA). Since 2008 Dr. Effenberger is Executive Officer of the IABG Transportation Division and Managing Director of the German Maglev Testing Facility (TVE). He is considered as an expert for complex testing projects and the management of test organizations. Recent developments of the German Transrapid® maglev system, including the vehicle TR09 and its propulsion- and operation control system have been successfully qualified at system level under his TVE management responsibility. In the high speed transportation domain his team is currently involved in the qualification of new maglev guideway elements and the world-wide promotion of the Transrapid® system.
